Ayutthaya Tour

Only 85 kilometers far from Bangkok, about 1 hour 15 minutes driving, the ruins of Ayutthaya stand as a fascinating link with Thailand's past. In 1350 , Ayutthaya became the second capital of Siam and the city expanded into a great trading center with China and Europe. It prospered for four centuries until 1767 when the invading Myanmar, after four years of war, completely destroyed the city, leaving only the ruins which can be seen today.
You can return from Ayutthaya to Bangkok by air conditioned river cruises, making the journey one way back by the river, lunch and refreshments served on board.

Places of Interest

Take Canal Tour with Boat Trip. A lot of fun!

Before the arrival of the motorcars, boats were the main waterway transportation. In Bangkok, sightseeing by boat offers visitors short tours with commentary on the main riverside sights, such as the Grand Palace and the temple of the dawn.

Bangkok used to be known as the Venice of the Far East for all the watery arteries connecting to the main vein-Chao Phraya river(the river of kings). Taking a long-tail boat tour of a few of these canals on the Thonburi side of the river, like Bangkok Noi(little) and Bangkok Yai(big) with breaks at the temple of dawn and the Royal Barges Museum is a great wat to immerse yourself in Thai history and this experience will inspire you a real buzz of excitement you won't find anywhere else.

Because the Floating Market will be ended on 12.00 a.m., that's why we have to depart Bangkok very early in the morning. The distance is 8o k.m. and it takes about 1 hour and 15 minuites to get there.
Before we hit there , stop once to see how we make homemade coconut sugar and taste the rich sweetness of it. Then, we will get on the 30 minutes long-tail boat heading to Floating Market, past canal-side houses to see the way Thai local people live in countryside.

There are many activities as your options at Floating Market, such as riding on elephantback,

Taking trek through the forest and small river. During the journey, participants will be able to take photos and will likely be sprayed by the elephant's trunk. (LOL)

The Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha

Bangkok is very hot as everyone knows. However, for some foreigners, they may think sunshine in Bangkok is very nice and make all temples look more magnificent when sparkling, especially, at the Temple of the Emerald Buddha and the Grand Palace.

The architectural plan of the new Grand Palace in Bangkok (the fourth capital of Thailand) is almost identical in every detail to that of the Grand Palace in the former capital of Ayutthaya(the second capital of Thailand). It was built close to the river facing north, with the river on the left. and the sites of yarious Royal residences, Throne halls, and the Royal Chapel within the compound all remind one of the layout of Ayutthaya's Royal Palace.

The Temple of Emerald Buddha is situated in the area of the Grand Palace ,following an ancient tradition, was built in 1783 and completed in 1785 to house the city’s Emerald Buddha image. The dimension of the Emerald Buddha is 48.3 cm. wide and the height, including the base, is 66 cm. The image is in a seated position, with the right leg resting on the left one. There are three seasonal costumes made for the Emerald Buddha, one for the hot season, one for the rainy season and one for the cold season. Consequently, the ceremony of changing the costumes takes place three times a year.

The Royal Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emeral Buddha is opened daily from 8.30 A.M. to 3.30 P.M. Visitor are advised that polite and modest dress is essential.
